byFlow, a Dutch company specializing in 3D printed food, recently announced a partnership with industrial manufacturing company VDL Groep. The agreement between the two companies stipulates that VDL Apparatenbouw, the electronics division of the group, will begin manufacturing and assembling byFlow’s 3D food printers at its facility in Eersel, the Netherlands.

Founded in 2015, byFlow is a family-run operation that has been at the forefront of food 3D printing. With its technology—the Focus 3D Food Printer—the company aims to revolutionize how food is prepared and experienced. Targeted to the professional food industry, the food 3D printer is already being used by professional chefs, caterers, schools, multinationals and R&D facilities around the world.

“The very first Focus 3D Food Printer was my project from the beginning to the end,” said Floris Hoff, byFlow Founder and CTO. “I haven´t only designed, but also assembled each and every part of it. I wouldn’t trust just anyone with taking over the production. We are very proud that a company like VDL Apparatenbouw is going to support byFlow in its journey to the next phase of scaling up our company.”

The collaboration with VDL Groep will also enable byFlow to focus on advancing its food 3D printing by continuing to research and develop its platform and other 3D food technologies. Nina Hoff, byFlow Co-Founder and CEO added that the the company is prepared to ramp up business collaborations with companies from the food industry.
