For over 20 years, Moto GP racing Champion Valentino Rossi amazed and entertained the world of motorcycle racing with his exploits. A giant 3D printed helmet, a replica of his trademark helmet, has now been unveiled in the city of Pesaro, to celebrate the many achievements of his racing career. The special event serves to promote Pesaro as Italy’s Culture Capital in 2024.

The giant 6-meter-tall and 4-meter-wide sculpture was entirely manufactured by Caracol AM using the company’s proprietary LFAM technology. The giant 3D printed helmet project was developed in collaboration with #Extralab and Riccardo Sivelli, for the City of Pesaro. It weighs over 400 Kg and it is the largest motorcycle helmet in the world.

Nicknamed The Doctor, Valentino Rossi, Vale,  is widely considered to be one of the greatest motorcycle racers of all time, with nine Grand Prix World Championships to his name, seven of which were in the premier 500cc/MotoGP class. He is also the only road racer to have competed in 400 or more Grands Prix. He rode with the number 46 for his entire career and now owns a motorcycle racing team characterized by his name and number.

He was born in Urbino (near Pesaro) and grew up in the small town of Tavulia (also near Pesaro). He has always maintained a strong bond with this area of Italy, which is located in the Marche region but also receives a strong cultural influence from the nearby Romagna region. Throughout his career, he was able to conquer crowds of motorcycle racing fans all over the world due to his innate ability to entertain, both on the racetrack and outside of it.

The original celebrations of him many victories, along with pranks, jokes and dress-ups resounded with the public. So did the many original helmets he wore throughout his career. None as original as this giant 3D printed helmet, the largest helmet ever made for the greatest motorcycle racing champions of all time.
