Meltio, a disruptive laser metal deposition technology manufacturer, communicated that Sivó, an industrial machine shop, became the very first official integrator of the Meltio Engine CNC Integration in Spain and Portugal, supported by Sicnova, Meltio’s official sales partner in the Iberian Peninsula.

Sivó is planning on fully enjoying the benefits of Meltio’s hybrid manufacturing solution. On the one hand, they are going to use the machine to improve their glass mold repair process. On the other hand, as part of Sicnova’s sales ecosystem, they are going to be the very first official integrators of the Meltio Engine for machine tools in Spain and Portugal.

They are looking to install Meltio’s unique hybrid solution to those willing to upgrade their manufacturing processes. Meltio’s cutting-edge multi-metal 3D printing technology precisely stacks weld beads on top of one another when introduced into a laser-generated melt pool. The process uses commodity welding wire, the cleanest, safest and lowest cost metal feedstock on the market. The Meltio Engine integrates impeccably into existing CNC and robotic equipment, bringing new capabilities to a wide range of industries and applications.

The CNC Integration maximizes manufacturing potential by creating highly complex large parts with machining tolerances in a single step. This provides countless advantages to machine shops, such as Sivó. “We are thrilled to be working with Sivó and Sicnova, as the collaboration between sales and integration partners within the Meltio ecosystem is critical to fast-track technology adoption in a territory. With Sivó’s expertise we are now able to bring an end-to-end solution to customers that require hybrid manufacturing capabilities in Spain and Portugal”, said Gerard García, Head of Marketing and Sales at Meltio.

Sivó has extensive experience with large-size mold, and valve repair and adjustment as well as models and prototypes. In recent years, the machining department of the company has gained special importance, with works of great technical complexity. That is why they decided to install the Meltio Engine CNC integration into their Haas UMC-1000SS machine, which was ready within a week.

“Meltio’s technology allows us to finish a project started in 2016. Our aim is to advance and automatize our glass mold repair process. This revolutionary technology makes the creation of parts possible, that otherwise would be impossible to machine, starting from raw material. It will allow us to expand the market of our products and to improve our company on a technological level”. said José Sivó Romero, Additive Production Director at Sivó Sicnova is the exclusive distributor of Meltio’s technology in Spain and Portugal since 2019.

The company leverages its broad experience in the industrial sector and its well-established sales network for introducing Meltio’s unique additive manufacturing solutions to industries seeking a competitive advantage in their production process. “Sivó plays a key role in our ecosystem, as an official Meltio Engine integrator for CNC systems. At Sicnova we firmly believe in the potential of this hybrid technology, which combines the best of subtractive technology with metal additive manufacturing, for companies in the industrial sector that want to take a step further in their production processes, with a special focus on machining. That is why we wanted to count on Sivó, with its vast experience and know-how in this sector, so that our customers have all the facilities and our guarantee to implement this cutting-edge technology”, said Agustín García, Sales Director of Sicnova.
