Sinterit releases PA 11 Carbon Fiber for its SLS platforms

After long and thorough research, Sinterit is officially releasing the new PA 11 Carbon Fiber material for its SLS platforms and adding it to the growing Sinterit family of AM powders. PA11 CF is one of the strongest and most versatile materials available on the powder market dedicated to SLS printing technology.

It presents optimal mechanical performance with tensile and flexural strength (81 MPa and 100 MPa) together with a high thermal resistance (HDT up to 191°C). Industries that use PA 11 Carbon Fiber include production maintenance, automotive (under the hood functional prototypes), extreme applications, aerospace (CubeSats), universities/research and the medical segment for prosthetics, orthotics and devices.

In general, parts made of PA11 Carbon Fiber are lighter, translating into lower fuel consumption. In addition, the material is a bio-derived powder. All PA11 from Arkema, PA 11 Carbon Fiber is bio-derived from castor oil. It is a powder composite material based on Polyamide 11 enhanced with Carbon Fiber for better performance and rigidity. It features a high strength-to-weight ratio and high thermal properties. Its well-balanced profile of mechanical and thermal properties while maintaining good impact strength makes it one of the strongest and most versatile materials available on the powder market dedicated to SLS printing technology

As PA11 Carbon Fiber requires an inert atmosphere, it is compatible with the Lisa PRO and NILS 480 machines from Sinterit.
