Sintavia adds tenth and eleventh industrial metal 3D printers

Acquisitions add another EOS M400-4 and an EOS M290 to the company’s manufacturing footprint

In its second announcement in two weeks, Sintavia, LLC, a leading Tier One metal additive manufacturer, announced today that it has added a tenth and an eleventh additive manufacturing (AM) machine to its growing fleet of in-house printers. The tenth machine is an EOS M400-4, Sintavia’s third M400 large-scale industrial printer, and the eleventh machine is another EOS M290, the medium-sized workhorse for volume production.

“Adding these machines to our production capacity immediately in September was a necessity,” said Doug Hedges, Sintavia’s President. “Our customers’ needs have increased significantly in volume over the last six months and Sintavia is meeting this demand head-on. Sintavia is the independent leader for high-volume serial manufacturing of aerospace and other precision industries via AM.”

Sintavia currently has a total of eleven machines in its South Florida facility including five EOS printers (two M400-4s, one M400-1, and two M290s), three SLM printers (two 280HL twin lasers and one 280HL single laser), two GE Additive printers (one Concept M2 single laser and one Arcam Q20+), and a TRUMPF TruPrint 3000 laser printer. The company expects to more than double its capacity to 25 machines in 2019 after it moves into its new Hollywood, FL, facility in the spring.

Sumitomo Corporation of Americas (“SCOA”), the largest subsidiary of Sumitomo Corporation, recently made a minority investment in Sintavia, LLC.
