Shining 3D promotes 3D scanning technology by digitally preserving museum collections across the globe with their “Save the World ART” project.
September 29, 2016 (Hangzhou, China) – Let’s face it. Even if you dedicated your entire life to traveling to museums across the world and seeing every historical artifact and piece of art you possibly could, there’d still be an abundance of wondrous objects you’d never set your eyes upon. In fact, there’s usually only a small selection of museum collections on public display at any given time, and even then, most provided descriptions of them are incredibly vague and uninformative.
Though there are a limitless number of artifacts around the world, and to physically experience them all would be all but impossible, 3D scanning technology has emerged as a pioneering way to preserve and share these culturally important objects with the world. That’s why Shining 3D is launching the “Save the World ART” initiative, a project aiming to develop 3D data models of historically significant artifacts and artworks from museums around the globe.
With their recently released professional-grade 3D scanner, the EinScan-Pro Handheld 3D Scanner, on the frontline of the project, Shining 3D is rallying up their international customer base to help preserve museum collections in a creative and digitized fashion. By preserving worldly artifacts and priceless artwork with 3D scanning technology, you can help spread cultural awareness and educate people everywhere. And, while you’re capturing vital history with your EinScan-Pro 3D scanner, you’ll also have the opportunity to win a number of awards.
Contributors to the Save the World ART project can be EinScan-Pro users, 3D scanning experts, artists, and of course, the museum itself. You can also apply to obtain a EinScan-Pro 3D scanner loan, just simply submit your best scans, case stories, and video edits related to your museum’s arts and artifacts. Participants could win a 3D printed model of their selected scan in SLA, SLS, or SLM 3D printing technology (your choice), have an EinScan-Pro 3D scanner loaned for your art project, or even have Shining 3D sponsor your art-related initiative.
Thus far, Shining 3D’s museum initiative has already helped provide access to priceless cultural relics from the Tang Dynasty, preserve artifacts from the Ancient Babylon Civilization in Iraq, and has helped contribute to a number of scanning case studies conducted by Machine 3D and iMakr. Those looking for more information on how to properly scan artifacts and artwork with the EinScan-Pro can visit 3D Shining’s informative and instructional Blog.
You can join the fight to save the history and culture of the world by submitting your own 3D scan at www.einscan.com, sending in an application to receive an EinScan-Pro 3D scanner at info@shining3D.com, or uploading your 3D scan to Sketchfab with the hashtag #EinScan-Pro and #SWART.
