SHINING 3D, a Hangzhou-based company specialized in 3D printing and 3D scanning technologies, is adding two new hybrid light products to its EinScan 3D scanner series: the EinScan H and EinScan HX. Both products are handheld color 3D scanners and integrate two types of light source for different functionalities.
The EinScan H and EinScan HX Hybrid Light source handheld 3D scanners both integrate SHINING 3D’s EinScan LED light scanning technology, but add a second light source, which enables them to scan a broader range of objects for more challenging applications.
LED Light Scanning x Invisible Infrared
For instance, the EinScan H combines LED light scanning and Invisible Infrared to achieve full-color 3D scanning. The infrared light source enables the system to more easily capture data from traditionally tricky objects, like dark shapes and hair. The handheld device can also reliably scan medium and large items, such as the human body or furniture.
SHINING 3D elaborates: “Innovative software algorithms, combined with the freedom of choosing the most suitable light source for scanning, qualify the EinScan H for high-quality full human body data acquisition including hair, authentic digital replication of outstanding art pieces, furniture digitization for reproduction and virtual display and many more.”
Aside from its dual light source, the EinScan H integrates many features users have come to expect from SHINING 3D, including an ergonomic design, plug-and-play operation and intuitive software. The new scanning device is reportedly well suited for applications in the medical, art, heritage and education sectors.
LED Light Scanning x Blue Laser
The EinScan HX, for its part, combines SHINING 3D’s LED scan tech with blue laser light, broadening its scope for scanning materials and capturing in ambient light. The hybrid scanning system is intended for industrial applications, and is capable of scanning black surfaces and metal.
Users can leverage the scanner’s rapid scan mode to quickly capture object data without the need for reference points. Or they can opt for the laser scanning mode, which uses multiple blue laser lines to capture high accuracy scans of many types of object—even challenging reflective surfaces. SHINING 3D says the EinScan HX is ideal for reverse engineering, CAD/CAM and 3D printing applications.
The two 3D scanner product launches come just months after the Chinese 3D company released its EinScan Pro HD scanner, which can capture up to three million points per second.
