Shining 3D, a Chinese 3D technology company with offices in Stuttgart and San Franciso, has launched two new systems at Formnext 2021. The first is the AccuFab-L4K, a stereolithography 3D printer for rapid prototyping. The second is the Transcan C, a professional-grade, full-color 3D scanner. Both systems break new ground for the company.
The AccuFab-L4K is, according to Shining 3D, a prototyping SLA printer for shortening product development lifecycles. It offers 4K resolution and a build volume of 192 × 120 ×180 mm, with a minimum 0.025 mm layer thickness. With a UV LED + LCD light source, the AccuFab-L4K is furthermore the only SLA printer in the Shining 3D catalogue. (Its other photopolymerization printer, the AccuFab-D1, uses DLP technology.)
Other features of the Shining 3D AccuFab-L4K include IT7-level printing accuracy and high luminance uniformity. The AccuFab-L4K also has an onboard cooling system, plug-and-play software and a print speed of 10–50 mm/h. Furthermore, it is compatible with a range of resins, both proprietary and third party. Shining 3D markets several SLA materials including flexible resin, medical resin and rigid resin.
While Shining 3D specializes in handheld and desktop scanners under the EinScan brand, the new Transcan C — a structured-light scanner with a white LED light source — is the company’s only tripod-mounted scanner to offer multiple scan ranges. Furthermore, the professional-grade system uses 12 MP cameras to produce detailed and textured 3D models. More importantly, however, it can shift between three levels of resolution in one project to improve efficiency while retaining detail.
The Transcan C can capture multiple scan ranges. Its slide-rail design enables the user to switch the scanning range between 150 x 96 mm (inner position) and 300 x 190 mm (outer position) to capture objects of varying sizes. The scanner has an accuracy of 0.035 mm at its inner position and 0.05 mm at its outer position. Other features of the scanner include a 24-bit color map and automatic soft light shooting.
“As our goal is to make 3D digital applications accessible for everybody, we are developing solutions answering to our customer’s needs,” says Sunny Wong, Shining 3D’s Overseas Managing Director. “The latest additions to the product portfolio empower fast, efficient, high-performing and accessible 3D printing as well as high resolution 3D scanning. We are proud to continuously add innovations to our product portfolio, facilitating and upgrading the 3D digital workflow for more and more users around the world.”
