A great connoisseur of the traditional manufacturing processes and at the forefront of the development of additive manufacturing techniques and the digitalization of production processes, Sandro De Poli began his career in the electromedical sector of Siemens. In 1982, he joined the GE Medical System team and after important international assignments in 1993, he began management of the Italian company.
His vision of global manufacturing, intuition and experience led him to his appointment in 2011 as President and CEO of General Electric Italy and Israel. Thanks to the experience gained in General Electric, he has held the role of chairman of the Board of Avio Aero since January of 2019.
“Digitization will allow a greater level of control of all stages of the production process and of the way in which the machines work and are operated,” says De Poli. “I chose to bet on Roboze because I recognize in its technological ecosystem, and in the vision of the team, exactly this high level of control and flexibility, with 3D printing solutions increasingly corresponding to the current and future needs of manufacturing, totally oriented to generate new frontiers of productivity “.
Roboze, with headquarters in Bari and Houston, aims to reshape global supply chains through 3D printing and a new production paradigm based on the Manufacturing as a Service (MaaS) model. The company’s additive manufacturing solutions allow its customers to accelerate their competitiveness through the production of functional parts and prototypes, just in time and on-demand, in super polymers and composite materials to replace metals with improved resistance and cost performance. This approach eliminates the need for CapEx-intensive assembly lines and as a result, increases the productivity within manufacturing companies.
The committee, already attended by Federico Faggin, inventor of the microprocessor, can now count on a new strategic figure to pursue its goals of technological conquest and international expansion, adding the experience of Sandro De Poli.
“I had the pleasure of meeting Sandro De Poli for the first time in 2016. Since that time Sandro has been a very valuable mentor” said Alessio Lorusso, Founder & CEO of Roboze. “His joining the Roboze Advisory Board not only makes me proud but I am sure that his great experience will accelerate the achievement of our international goals.”
