Roboze Xtreme 3D printer series to make U.S. debut at RAPID + TCT

High-temp systems support PEEK, ULTEM and nylon-CFR composites

Italian 3D printing company Roboze will be showcasing its Xtreme 3D printer series in the United States for the first time at RAPID + TCT in Detroit from May 20-23. The 3D printer series, which made its debut at Formnext 2018, comprises the ROBOZE One Xtreme and the ROBOZE One+400 Xtreme desktop/production solutions. In addition to presenting its new 3D printing hardware for the first time in the U.S., Roboze has also hinted it will be lifting the veil on some exciting news at the major additive manufacturing event.

As the series name implies, both Roboze 3D printing systems were designed to meet extreme requirements. In fact, the company’s Xtreme series was conceived as a point of contact between its existing desktop machines, such as the Roboze One and Roboze One+400, and its first production solution, the Argo 500, which was introduced in 2017.

The Argo 500 set a new standard for Roboze’s 3D printing capabilities at its launch. Equipped with a heated chamber reaching up to 180°C and a large build capacity of 500 x 500 x 500 mm, the production 3D printer is capable of producing large-scale, end-use components from engineering-grade materials such as PEEK, CARBON PEEK, ULTEM™ AM9085F filament and CARBON PA.

Roboze Xtreme RAPID + TCT

The Xtreme 3D printer series released by Roboze last year draws on the Argo 500’s production capabilities but scales the system down. The new series, to be showcased at RAPID + TCT, was fine tuned to meet the specific needs of the manufacturing sector and serves as a robust tool for producing strong plastic or composite parts that can replace metal components in a range of industries.

Xtreme hardware updates

The Xtreme series also introduces an updated Beltless System—Roboze’s well known patented printing system. The new 3D printers integrate racks machined with chemical nickel plating which helps to increase the printer’s precision (to 15 microns) as well as improve the machine’s resistance to corrosion and wear. Further, the new and improved Beltless System also reduces contact friction between the 3D printer’s rack and pinion.

The Xtreme 3D printers also integrate a Support System Cabinet (SSC), a multifunction cabinet that reduces printer vibrations and provides a consistent environment for materials, so users can control moisture levels and pre-heating.

Roboze Xtreme RAPID + TCT

Another notable feature of the Xtreme machines is an integrated Vacuum Box, which guarantees perfect adhesion to the printing surface and improved first-layer flatness. The vacuum system also works to cool down the HVP extruder using a compressed air cooling system. The patent-pending HVP extruder is itself worth mentioning, as it was designed by Roboze engineers for processing high viscosity and high performance materials.

Finally, in terms of materials the Roboze Xtreme series is compatible with a broader range of materials, including four new materials: Glass PA, PP, Carbon PP and Carbon PEEK. Roboze emphasizes that Carbon PEEK boasts superior thermal stability and mechanical properties compared to standard PEEK.

Roboze takes Detroit

Though Roboze already has an established presence in North America—the Italy-based company inaugurated its second U.S. office in Chicago last year—its attendance at the upcoming RAPID + TCT show in Detroit will mark an exciting opportunity for the 3D printer manufacturer. Specifically, the renowned 3D printing event will enable Roboze to expand its business network and meet new players in the North American AM industry.

At RAPID + TCT, Roboze will be offering a special deal to new resellers in order to establish full confidence in its products. New reseller partners will have the chance to use Roboze’s flagship printer, the Roboze One+400 Xtreme, for free for 60 days.

Not only will Roboze be showcasing its Xtreme 3D printers at the upcoming trade show in Detroit, but it will also demonstrate the qualities of the ULTEM™ AM9085F filament through in-depth sessions co-hosted by SABIC. The sessions will highlight the properties of the high-performance 3D printing material as well as potential applications for it.
