RIZE launches Smart Spaces for Innovation powered by XRIZE 3D printer

Boston-based 3D printing company RIZE, Inc. this week introduced “Smart Spaces for Innovation,” which will function as connected, interactive and intelligent environments for integrating 3D printing with other intelligent technologies such as augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR).
The company has launched Smart Spaces dedicated to three main areas: Product Innovation, Manufacturing Innovation and Service Innovation. All three will be powered by the company’s industrial XRIZE all-in-one 3D printer, which enables full-colour 3D printing and carbon composite production.
“XRIZE is a game changer for this industry,” said Andy Kalambi, President and CEO of RIZE. “RIZE continues to expand the definition of desktop industrial 3D printing with unprecedented capabilities, such as full color, composites, digital augmentation and increase the value for end users.”
The new Smart Spaces will combine innovative approaches in design with RIZE’s full-colour 3D printing capabilities to create intelligent parts that can be connected to AR/VR, blockchain and other intelligent systems. The Smart Space initiative can reportedly help companies to accelerate innovation, improve productivity and lower costs by as much as 90%.
Product, Manufacturing and Service Innovation
RIZE’s Smart Spaces in Product Innovation will offer design engineers the opportunity to engage with new haptic experiences to enable faster turnaround cycles in the product development process. Full-colour printing offers product design iterations with a higher degree of realism while the production flexibility of the 3D printer enables multiple iterations and testing to take place in a short timeframe.
Smart Spaces in Manufacturing Innovation will be geared towards manufacturing and tooling engineers who are seeking to benefit from cost reductions in the production of custom tools, jigs and fixtures, as well as low volume parts. This smart space can help to reduce errors in the engineering-to-manufacturing workflow.
Finally, Smart Spaces in Service Innovation is targeted at service engineers and will enable them to increase productivity of their equipment by providing on-demand printing of spare parts and reducing locked capital by transitioning to digital inventories.
RIZE will officially launch the Smart Space for Innovation at AMUG next week.
