Renishaw Solutions Center integrates TRACEam quality management

Renishaw Inc. Solutions Center USA has partnered with TRACEam, a provider of quality management tools for streamlining project management and documentation throughout the additive manufacturing workflow. Through the partnership, TRACEam’s end-to-end process will be integrated directly into the Renishaw InfiniAM API ecosystem, resulting in a more efficient and scalable AM workflow for its employees and customers.
The integration aims to help the AM provider overcome a challenge that has slowed AM’s widespread industrialization, related to the tracking the full lifecycle of each component. Specifically, TRACEam’s quality management tools will help the Renishaw company to more efficiently track, warehouse, measure and analyze information about parts 3D printed at its facility.
“TRACEam is more than just a series of data streams,” explained Dr. Mike Vasquez, founder of TRACEam and consulting firm 3Degrees. “We have worked with dozens of manufacturers to build actionable analytic tools that give users great visibility into their entire 3D printing process. This results in a more accessible dashboard that gives manufactures cues on material usage, part performance and machine reliability. Renishaw has a long heritage in precision manufacturing and their emphasis on end-to-end quality control is makes them a great match for the software. We’re excited to be partnering with them and about the possibilities it creates for their customers.”
By implementing TRACEam tools, Renishaw Solutions Center USA will be able to leverage real-time machine data, which will be transmitted to the TRACE platform using a series of 24 sensors that have already been built into Renishaw’s metal 3D printing platform. The machine data from the sensors will be recorded, along with design, material, post-processing and inspection data for each printed part. This information will ultimately give Renishaw the knowledge needed to analyze its quality control processes and improve its ability to meet safety and compliance requirements. Renishaw and TRACEam will demonstrate the API integration in a series of upcoming webinars and online tutorials.
