nScrypt signs distribution and OEM agreement with South Korea’s ANI Motion

Florida-based company nScrypt has entered into a distribution and OEM agreement with South Korea-based ANI Motion. The collaboration gives the company the exclusive rights to sell nScrypt’s 3D printing and bioprinting systems in South Korea as well as nonexclusive rights to sell its products across Asia. ANI Motion will also begin to manufacture nScrypt systems locally for sale in the region.
As part of the agreement, nScrypt will provide its specialized tool heads to ANI Motion, such as its SmartPump microdispensing tool head, material extrusion tool head, milling/drilling/polishing tool head and pick and place tool head. The South Korean manufacturer will then integrate the American-made parts into the high-precision nScrypt systems it is manufacturing.
The partnership agreement marks a significant expansion for nScrypt’s potential customer market. The company, which develops high-precision 3D manufacturing and biomanufacturing systems has been particularly popular in its home country with the defense and space sectors. For instance, the company developed ruggedized versions of its 3D printer and bioprinter for military use in the field.
“We are excited about partnering with ANI Motion for distribution and manufacturing in Asia,” said Dr. Ken Church, CEO of nScrypt. “We are confident that ANI Motion has a similar vision as nScrypt: high-precision digital manufacturing using our 3D manufacturing systems, which can make products, not just parts, like fully functioning electronic devices. We expect this arrangement substantially to expand our footprint in Asia and to help move both companies and the digital manufacturing industry to the next level.”
ANI Motion is a joint venture company with high-performance motion control company Aerotech. The Seoul-based firm produces capital equipment but also operates a technical research arm – not unlike nScrypt which has a research division (Sciperio). ANI Motion manufactures its own equipment, like UV laser drilling and cutting systems, and is a distributor of Aerotech super-precision motion platforms.
“I feel really lucky to start a collaborative business relationship with nScrypt, which has full and world-top level of technology and product supply capacity in the field of high-precision micro-dispensing, 3D Manufacturing, and biomanufacturing equipment,” added ANI Motion CEO Tony Shin. “Making the best use of our business networks in Korea and many Asian countries we have built so far and our technical skills and manufacturing and supply capacity of high-precision micro-processing laser machine we developed ourselves, we are confident that both companies will definitely make successful accomplishments before long.”
