Exactly two years ago, at Formnext 2016, 3D Printing Media Network was the first media to report on Teknodizayn’s LOOP 3D printer concept. Now the Turkish 3D printer distributor is ready to launch the new LOOP PRO 3D Printer, a new and reliable filament extrusion system for Industry 4.0 applications.
LOOP PRO 3D is a complete system tested for use in heavy industry, aviation and even by government institutions, with several entities reportedly planning subsequent purchases. The first printers have already left the production lines, and LOOP 3D, after a series of strategic decisions, is beginning its expansion on the global market. The first beta model was manufactured in 2017 and the machine went through a series of improvements since.
Teknodizayn 3D has been active in the additive manufacturing industry for 10 years and is continuing its mission to support the customers with the knowledge and solutions to accelerate additive manufacturing processes. With the feedback collected over a decade, Teknodizayn’s team decided to create a solution to answer the needs of its customers. The team behind the development of the LOOP 3D printer combines engineers, technicians and developers with experience in operating, servicing and optimizing various 3D printers, traditional and additive manufacturing methods including CNC Machining, FDM, SLS, SLA, MJF, 3D design and software development.
Industrial Plug & Print
The LOOP PRO 3D printer is leveragin industrial-grade DYNAMIDE materials such as reinforced PA with Glass Fiber and Carbon Fiber with ESD protection. The machine features an up to 500 x 350 x 500 mm build space with a flexible build plate for quick model removal, laser calibration, easy to service modular printhead, closed chamber with a HEPA and Carbon filters. Moreover, LOOP PRO 3D grants high model precision (layer thickness between 50-300 microns) and repeatability thanks to CNC-milled unibody aluminum casting which minimizes vibrations. Material Conditioning Unit, that can be found in the lower part of the printer’s cabinet, prevents material degradation caused by humidity.
Dedicated LOOP 3D CLOUD slicing software designed to be user-friendly and clear. LOOP 3D CLOUD offers connectivity both wireless and through Wi-Fi to manage the multiple units and the printer’s progress can be monitored via the live stream option.
A collaboration LOOP
LOOP 3D’s headquarters in Ankara is surrounded by professionals from different industrial sectors who naturally became customers and beta testers of the project. That lead to cooperation with companies such as Hidromek, the biggest company in Europe in the field of construction vehicles, using 3D printed parts for concept modeling and prototyping as well as for casting polyurethane parts to silicone molds, in order to duplicate parts and generate savings.
LOOP PRO 3D printer is also used by Lapis Aerospace for research and development in the area of drones and unmanned aerial vehicles. As one of the beta testers, Lapis is using the LOOP PRO 3D Printer for functional prototyping complex parts which are difficult to make with injection molding. LOOP3D DYNAMIDE materials can be used to produce parts are resistant to both heat and cold, which is important for aerial vehicles. High impact resistance also makes the material suitable for this type of application. Lapis Aerospace is now planning to use the LOOP PRO 3D printers for larger volume production of strategic parts, using multiple machines.
