NASA aerospace technologist Nathanael Miller is Titomic’s new CTO

Titomic Limited, an Australian metal 3D printing company, has appointed Nathanael Miller, a former Aerospace Technologist for NASA, as its new Chief Technology Officer. Miller will bring his many years of experience in the aerospace sector to develop commercial opportunities for Titomic with industry, government, academic and research partners with a particular focus on the emerging commercial space industry.

Miller has an impressive 13 years of experience at NASA, working as an aerospace technologist for the organization’s Langley Research Center’s Mechanical Systems Branch, the founder of NASA Lab 77, and Lead Mission Developer, Chief Engineer for the Shields-1 CubeSat, Sub-Systems Lead for Sub-System Lead IRVE-3 (Inflatable Reentry Vehicle Experiment).

Miller played a critical role in developing NASA Langley’s small satellite portfolio and served as the Director on the Board of the Congress on the Future of Engineering Software (COFES). Now, he will take on a leadership role at Titomic, helping to break the company and its Titomic Kinetic Fusion (TKF) into the rapidly growing space industry.

“It is exciting time to join Titomic to lead the development of digital manufacturing platforms and drive strategic opportunities in the burgeoning space industry,” Miller said. “I’ve seen 20 years of growth in robotic automation and engineering software industry and I’ve worked for more than a decade applying the best advanced technologies to ground, air and space systems. I can say, without hesitation, that Titomic’s Kinetic Fusion process leverages these industry capabilities to deliver the best, and most practical, large-scale metal technology manufacturing in the additive manufacturing technology space available.”

TItomic’s patented TKF process offers a commercially viable additive manufacturing solution for space and satellite applications. With Australia increasing its investments in the defense and space segments, Titomic’s platform has the potential to contribute greatly. The technology can be used to produce large-scale space vehicles and satellites that would be impossible to create using traditional manufacturing processes.

Jeff Lang, Titomic Managing Director, commented on the appointment of the new CTO, saying: “Nathanael’s many years of experience at NASA will provide Titomic a competitive advantage on future strategy on revenue opportunities in the fast-growing and fiercely competitive commercial space industry sector. As the Chief Technology Officer for Titomic, Nathanael will join our dynamic executive team to lead our efforts in building digital manufacturing platforms to create a sustainable and important capability for not only Titomic, but for Australian future sovereign capability.”
