Maip Group officially formalized the acquisition of Ciceri de Mondel S.r.l., an Italian company known in the additive manufacturing world for its activities in the 3D printing filament segment with the FILOALFA brand. Heaquartered in in Ozzero, near Milan, Ciceri de Mondel has been operating for many years in the field of the production of high-quality styrene plates.
The integration of Ciceri de Mondel within the Group constitutes for Maip – which has a solid industrial tradition and advanced skills in the search for innovative and eco-sustainable materials – a factor of competitive advantage, especially due to the potential of the rapidly expanding AM market. and with a strong possibility of technological evolution. According to Eng. Martini, Chairman of the Maip Group, “the operation will make it possible to apply on products such as plates and filaments for 3D printers – markets not traditionally covered by Maip – the ability to develop new formulations that will allow a significant enrichment of the technical and aesthetic characteristics of the products offered.
The integration plan of Ciceri de Mondel envisages, in fact, a first notable synergy in the part of research and experimentation of materials with innovative and environmentally friendly characteristics, a sector in which the Maip Group has invested and is investing considerable resources. In particular the company will soon launch a new line of filaments based on the revolutionary BIO-TECNO polymer, known worldwide with the IamNature brand, which offers unique performances.

Antonio Berera, for the R&D division, who will be responsible for the development of innovative materials and technologies and in particular for the management of industrial activities dedicated to FILOALFA production. Berera “the operation just concluded will allow that leap in quality, in terms of technical capabilities and investments, which will lead to a development that would otherwise have been difficult to achieve”.
