The deadline to submit your ideas and concepts for the annual 3D Pioneers Challenge design award in 3D printing is fast approaching, on March 31st. To participate, contestants can register at www.3dpc.io and submit directly online in one of the following verticals:
Accepted projects have a chance to win of a total prize money of 15,000 EUR, or one of the other exciting prizes like a MakerBot Replicator Mini+ or a subscription to designreport. The final Exhibition of the nominees will take place from 20th – 22nd of June 2017 at Rapid.Tech + FabCon 3.D (Messe Erfurt).
Now on its second edition, the Challenge seeks to uncover specialists from around the world
who are thinking outside the box and – pushing boundaries! The event focuses on 3D printing’s potential for the digital world to become real. Where do the developments of additive manufacturing lead to and which opportunies do they offer?
Interdisciplinary teamwork causes chances for creative new paths – because innovation needs a view from the top. Who are the pioneers of nowadays that break new ground, who combine new techniques and create something unpredictable, unknown and new? Designer who push the process, demonstrate conceptional and practical ideas and think outside the box.
The competition is open to Students and companies (Young Professionals and Professionals) working in design or technical fields, as well as the automotive, research and medical sectors.
We welcome submissions from previously published projects to brand new ideas.
The jury will also take into account whether each project was submitted by students, young professionals or professionals.

An international competition for additive manufacturing technologies
Since 2015 the unique 3D Pioneers Challenge covers a range of verticals and is aimed at designers who are breaking new ground in the field of 3D printing and who understand the key trends in the industry.
The Challenge seeks to uncover specialists from around the world who are thinking outside the box and –pushing boundaries.
Additive and rapid manufacturing processes are no longer in their infancy – their unique features have already helped them to conquer the market and win over end users. Alongside the traditional engineering sectors such as the aerospace industry, additive manufacturing processes are now also being used in medical technology, fashion and architecture, lifting the limits on imagination and individuality.

The 3D Pioneers Challenge is organized by d.sign21 in collaboration with the Rapid.Tech + FabCon 3.D . The Rapid.Tech international trade show and User’s Conference is aimed specifically at users and developers of Additive Manufacturing technologies. With participants from over 18 countries, it is one of the most important information events in Europe. 180 exhibitors, over 4,500 trade visitors and more than 900 conference participants from Europe and around the globe are expected in Erfurt from 20th to 22nd June 2017. Since 2013, Rapid.Tech has been run in tandem with FabCon 3.D, which focuses on people with an interest outside the traditional industries. It is a meeting point both for creative start-ups and for experts and major players in the 3D Printing community.
