3D printing electronics company Nano Dimension is marking its first entry into the Japanese market with the sale of a DragonFly Pro 3D printer to CMK Corporation, one of Japan’s largest manufacturers of printed circuit boards (PCBs).
The Tokyo-based company will utilize the 3D printer to achieve faster prototyping cycles for printed wiring boards (PWBs) in the early development stage. Additionally, CMK Corporation plans to use the DragonFly Pro machine to experiment with new PWB shapes and layer structures to fulfill various client needs.
CMK Corporation has been in business for over 50 years and is an expert in PCB and PWB production. Though the company operates in various industries, about 70% of its sales are from automotive electronics, including circuit prototypes for car accessories, complex electronic control systems, engine management systems and applications for autonomous vehicles. Notably, the Asia-Pacific market is reportedly the largest regional market for automotive PCBs.
The addition of the DragonFly Pro 3D printer to its production will enable CMK Corporation to speed up its design and development process for new PWBs in a cost effective way. The technology enables electronics producers to keep prototyping in house, ensuring a secure, time and cost efficient process.

The entry into the Japanese market is not Nano Dimension’s only recent milestone: last week the company announced it had successfully 3D printed its first IoT communication device using its DragonFly Pro.
