Smit Röntgen shows powder bed laser melting of pure tungsten

Smit Röntgen specialises in processing pure tungsten, using powder bed laser melting. Tungsten has many benefits over other metals commonly used in 3D printing – it is one of the heaviest, non-toxic, non-magnetic and bio-compatible dense metals. It allows for small, very complex designs and is not magnetic. In terms of medical applications, it is suitable for thermal and radiation shielding and can be used in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI). It is also used for balance weights in the aerospace industry. Smit-Röntgen will be showcasing a variety of applications on their stand (617).
