Germany-based finishing solutions company DyeMansion has announced a new partnership agreement with PLM Group, a reseller of 3D printing technologies in the Nordic-Baltic region. PLM Group will now offer DyeMansion’s full range of finishing products alongside 3D printing systems from HP and 3D Systems and 3D printing software solutions. The distribution partnership also marks Dyemansion’s first authorized reseller in the Nordics and Baltics.
DyeMansion’s product offering comprises a Print-to-Product workflow that provides automated, end-to-end solutions for finishing plastic 3D printed parts, from cleaning, to surfacing, to coloring. The first step, cleaning, is completed by the DyeMansion Powershot C system, an automated blasting cabinet with a rotating basket and two simultaneous blasting nozzles, which efficiently remove powder from the printed part.
The second finishing step is PolyShot Surfacing using the DyeMansion Powershot S, a system that shoots beads using compressed air at the printed part to achieve a smooth surface quality. The technology, which is based on DyeMansion’s VaporFuse Surfacing technology, results in a “unique semi-gloss look” that is conducive to superior coloring results.
Finally, the DyeMansion DM60 is used to apply color to the 3D printed product. Customers can choose from a virtually limitless combination of hues, which are made based on precise color recipes and applied from color cartridges. The company’s dyeing process is fully reproducible, creating visual consistency from part to part.
For PLM Group, which was formed in 2009 through the merger of five leading SolidWorks Value Add resellers, the partnership with DyeMansion marks an important entry into the distribution of post-processing systems.
“Our aim is to create efficient solutions for any industry need and that’s why we decided on DyeMansion, as they have the best and most flexible industrial solutions for post-processing available on the market,” said Gøran Jenssen, Business Unit Manager of 3D Printing at PLM Group. “The partnership with DyeMansion enables us as the first company in the Nordic-Baltics region to offer our customers the complete 3D printing process chain—from design and printing to the right finishing options according to their needs.”
PLM Group will install DyeMansion’s finishing systems at its facility so that customers can see the multi-step solution first hand. PLM Group will also act as the first point of contact for customers in the Nordic-Baltic region, offering technical support for installations, troubleshooting and maintenance.
