Sintratec, a Switzerland-based SLS 3D printer manufacturer, has expanded its reseller range in Southern Europe with a new partnership with CMF Marelli. The Milan-based machine instruments supplier will now be distributing Sintratec’s additive manufacturing solutions to the Italian market.
Founded nearly 70 years ago, CMF Marelli has made a name for itself in Italy for providing machine tools and measuring technology for industrial applications. More recently, the company has diversified its portfolio, offering a range of other manufacturing technologies, including 3D printers, 3D scanners, punching and rolling tools and software for the dental industry.
Through the new agreement with Sintratec, the Northern Italian company will now add the Sintratec 2 SLS 3D printer and Sintratec PA12 and TPE materials to its product offering. The selective laser sintering solution is well suited for rapidly and cost effectively producing high quality prototypes as well as small series production.
“With nearly two decades of experience in the operation and service of 3D printing systems, we have found our perfect industrial partner in Italy,” said Gabor Koppanyi, Head of Marketing and Sales at Sintratec. “CMF Marelli is actively supporting its customers in the implementation of new production methods.”
To signal the beginning of their distribution partnership to the Italian market, Sintratec will be presenting its S2 3D printing solution alongside CFM Marelli at the upcoming Mecspe industrial fair in Parma from March 28 to 30, 2019. The event, which brings in over 50,000 visitors, will highlight new and innovative industrial technologies, machinery and materials.
Gianluca Petri, CEO of CMF Marelli, added: “With the Sintratec S2, we want to provide the Italian market with a professional and affordable 3D printing solution in addition to the conventional technologies in our portfolio.”
First presented at Formnext 2018, the Sintratec S2 is a modular, all-in-one selective laser sintering system that integrates semi-automated processes for laser sintering, de-powdering, material preparation and surface treatment. The modularity comes into effect as users can add additional modules to the AM system, including the Sintratec Blasting Station, Sintratec Polishing Station and Sintratec Vortex Unit.
