Ceramics 3D Printing Leader 3DCeram Partners with 3D Matters to Enter UK Market

3DCeram, a French company specializing in 3D ceramic processes and materials, formed a partnership with 3D Matters (3DM) which will give the company a foothold in the UK market, pooling both companies’ additive manufacturing expertise in 3D printed ceramics.

A specialist in additive manufacture, 3D Matters Limited, works with their clients to produce 3D printed products and prototypes. In this way, 3DM can design and manufacture materials and objects faster and more efficiently by reducing the product design cycle and the time to market.

“This partnership between 3DCeram and 3D Matters is a new step forward for our company. We are committed to exporting our skills to new markets, providing much-needed expertise to companies across the Channel. And by pooling our talent, we can reinforce our engineering methods, production processes, maintenance and support capabilities for maximum impact on the industry,” says Richard Gaignon, Co-Director of 3DCeram.

Both commercially and technologically, this partnership will help 3DCeram strengthen their position on the international market, especially in the United Kingdom.

The companies will pool their skills and expertise to market the CERAMAKER ceramic printing lines. This technology, developed by 3DCeram, significantly cuts product development time and is specially adapted for companies seeking flexibility and high-performance ceramics.

“3D Matters was seeking a partner with the technology to produce “high-quality matter” components: parts with the best possible properties. Ceramic 3D printing allows us to drastically shorten the component development process and expand what we can offer in terms of other materials. So after a period of market research, we decided to distribute 3DCeram’s products; in particular the Ceramaker ceramic printing technology, their 3DMIX pastes and their personalised support capabilities, built on more than 10 years’ experience in ceramic additive manufacture,” explains Nathan Blake from 3D Matters.

3DCeram’s 3D printing technology offers enormous flexibility when designing items for the medical, luxury goods and industrial sectors. And now, thanks to the Ceramaker 900 from 3DCeram, it is possible to manufacture large items of incomparable quality and provide a real boost to your innovation process.

Technical ceramics are rightly famous for their excellent properties: high mechanical resistance, improved dimensional stability, low density, extremely high abrasion and corrosion resistance, exceptional chemical stability. 3DCeram uses a unique technology which enables them to manufacture ceramic components directly from a CAD file with no break in the digital chain. This technique is called laser stereolithography.

A range of different formulae have already been developed to suit the most common ceramics applications (alumina, zirconia, hydroxyapatite, etc.). These can be boosted with a customised formula according to your specific technical specifications.

Founded in 2001, 3DCeram (www.3DCeram.com) is a Limoges-based company, directed since 2009 by Christophe Chaput and Richard Gaignon. 3DCeram has brought together a wide and varied skill set, providing them with unique technological expertise in the field of 3D ceramic printing. Building on the technology developed and propagated by 3DCeram, ceramics are taking over and finding uses in a wide range of new fields and applications.

Using unique laser stereolithography technology, 3DCeram and their team of technical ceramic experts have developed a full package of services to help their clients succeed with their cutting-edge technological projects. These range from choosing the right ceramic for the job, developing a set of technical specifications and R&D, right up to guiding a 3D component from prototype to mass-production, on-demand production and batch production, and the sale of Ceramaker printers and associated consumables.
