Canada’s Burloak Technologies kicks off AM-Works customer collaboration program

Canadian additive manufacturing specialist Burloak Technologies, a division of Samuel, Son & Co., is launching its customer collaboration program, AM-Works, which will enable customers to further exploit the benefits of additive manufacturing through an expertly tailored service.

Through its new AM-Works program, Burloak Technologies will work closely with customers to evaluate their product or market challenges and suggest solutions and potential opportunities using additive manufacturing technologies. Burloak will then continue to support its clients through the implementation of AM, helping to prepare designs and prototypes that meet their specific requirements and to determine the feasibility for materials and 3D printed parts.

The final step in the AM-Works collaboration will consist of Burloak working with its clients to plan and implement a production method that will meet the customer’s needs and fit its resource, time and material requirements. Burloak will also offer quality and production monitoring assistance.

The broad aim with the customer collaboration program is to accelerate the adoption of additive manufacturing technologies in a way that is supported and mindful of the end-users needs. Burloak Technologies says the program will enable its clients to find the right AM solution.

“As additive technologies and applications have evolved, the layers of complexity, process options and confusion have grown exponentially,” said Peter Adams, President and Co-founder of Burloak Technologies. “With so many alternatives it can be challenging for customers to choose the right path to success in additive. Using a collaborative, in-depth evaluation and learning approach, our AM-Works Program helps customers transform their manufacturing processes, build a business case for additive and efficiently move their projects into scalable production.”

Burloak Technologies will be promoting its new AM-Works program at the upcoming Paris International Airshow from June 17 to 20, where it will be showcasing its products and services with Samuel, Son & Co. and Missouri Metals, a leader in custom titanium hot forming and super plastic forming for aerospace components.

Burloak, which was acquired by Samuel in 2017, recently announced a partnership with MDA, a Canada-based company working in the field of space robotics, satellite payloads and more. This collaboration is aimed at accelerating commercial space applications for AM processes.
