COBOD International has entered into a Joint Venture agreement (JV) with PT Modula Sustainability Indonesia, a subsidiary of PT Bakrie & Brothers Tbk (BNBR). The partners will establish a dedicated Indonesian joint venture company aimed at developing the 3DCP business in Indonesia.

BNBR is one of Indonesia’s foremost corporations and Bakrie & Brothers is the first, and leading, company of the Bakrie Group, an 80-year-old Indonesian business group. Modula Sustainability Indonesia is a subsidiary of BNBR, focusing on offering and providing solutions for housing backlog problems currently encountered in the country.

By teaming up with COBOD, the company is now set to adopt the latest 3D construction printing technology – offering the Indonesian market a new and better solution to housing construction.

The new JV company will be called PT Modula Tiga Dimensi, which in English would be the equivalent of “Modular 3D dimension company” – reflecting the modular build of COBOD’s printers.

“New 3D print technology, especially that applied to building construction, is relatively new in the Indonesian market. Modula intends to become one of the pioneers and the leading provider of 3DCP technology in the country, especially in the building and housing construction segment. Together with the Bakrie Group, we will have great opportunities to grow, and to demonstrate to the Indonesian market how our technology can be applied to build faster, better, cheaper, and more environmentally friendly,” said Simon Klint Bergh.
