Under Armor Shows Off New Architech Futurist Sneakers with 3D Printed Soles

As WearTesters.com first reported sports brand Under Armour showed off its new Architech Futurist sneakers, with fully 3D printed soles, at the brand’s fashion show for its FW17 collection. The shoes, still in limited edition, will be available to buy in select stores on March 30th for $300.

“The UA ArchiTech Futurist is a marvel of design, weaving together Under Armour’s past, present, and future of changing the way athletes dress. With fit-centric innovations that deliver the signature Under Armour feel and underfoot technology that redefines support, you are about to feel all-powerful.” Under Armour.

An evolution of the very limited UA Architech, the brand’s first 3D printed shoe, the upcoming Under Armour Futurist has significant upgrades, starting from the 3D printed, generatively designed sole which was topologically optimized  with different density foams for a bouncier yet smoother ride.

The shoe also uses a speed lacing system and a neoprene shroud with a zipper, center-placed for a tailored fit and seamless feel. Its SpeedForm system molds perfectly to the wearer’s foot to deliver zero distractions.
