AMFG, a UK-based specialist in automation software for additive manufacturing, has announced a partnership with LEO Lane, a provider of security and IP protection solutions for the AM industry. Through their agreement, the companies will integrate their respective software solutions to offer a more secure, end-to-end workflow management platform for additive manufacturing.
The collaboration will enhance two key areas. Firstly, AMFG’s comprehensive MES system will be improved with the addition of LEO Lane’s security solutions, including features for protecting IP, securing and tracking digital assets in real time, enforcing control over consistency, quality and quantity of printed products.
LEO Lane for its part, will leverage AMFG’s end-to-end workflow management tools for its customers. These tools include production scheduling, post-processing scheduling and file preparation. The combined software solutions will also offer clients access to virtual inventories and on-demand production capabilities.
At this stage, AMFG and LEO Lane have already formed a partnership with their first joint industrial client, though the details of this agreement have not been disclosed. The two companies are also seeking other industrial partners. The combination of security and workflow tools will surely appeal to companies, as protecting IP for 3D models is a crucial concern in many industries.
“Security and IP protection are two of the main considerations for additive manufacturing today,” explained Keyvan Karimi, CEO of AMFG. “Customers want to be sure that all files and data are secure as they go about managing their AM operations. LEO Lane brings a wealth of experience, credibility and forward-thinking to AM security, and our partnership further enhances AMFG’s holistic approach to managing additive manufacturing workflows.”
Lee-Bath Nelson, LEO Lane’s Co-Founder and VP of Business, added: “Securely automating the workflow is a must for serial production with AM. Companies, such as our joint customer with AMFG, need an end-to-end solution to manage their AM process efficiently and securely. The combination of AMFG and LEO Lane provides just such a solution. We’re excited to partner with AMFG and deliver on the areas that matter most for companies: consistency, quality and quantity.”
