alphacam has signed an exclusive distribution agreement with Tritone Technologies, an innovator in metal additive manufacturing. With the Tritone Dominant system, the German Stratasys distributor—one of the largest in the world—will thus optimally complements their range of metal 3D printers offered in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Lichtenstein.

Flexibility, quality and many years of experience in additive manufacturing were key elements considered by Tritone when selecting a distribution partner. “With alphacam, we have a competent and strong partner at our side,” said Omer Sagi, VP Products and Business Development at Tritone.

alphacam has nearly 30 years of experience in the 3D printing environment and has been a leading Stratasys sales partner in Germany since 1994. In addition to expert know-how, alphacam contributes to the success of the new partnership with a proven distribution structure, its own training center, a service hotline, a presentation center and a professional 3D printing service.

Tritone Dominant is a “powder-free” innovative additive manufacturing (AM) system that enables industrial production of high-quality metal parts. The system is based on Tritone’s patented and patents pending MoldJet® technology, built for producing large quantities of high-density parts with complex geometries.

Since its introduction at the Formnext 2019 exhibition, Tritone has improved the Dominant system and the MoldJet® technology to increase its set of available metal and ceramic materials to address the rigorous requirements of industrial applications. The enhancements include advanced verification of print quality, precision and uniformity, higher throughput, and improved streamlined post-process of parts.

“We were fascinated by the idea Tritone innovated by using the well-known MIM powders in an industrial “powder-free” AM process. For our customers it will be a big advantage handling only a clean and safe metal paste to receive strong dense green parts” said Michael Junghanss, Managing Partner at alphacam.

The Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Technology and Advanced Materials IFAM in Dresden was the first European user of this system. The new Tritone Dominant printing system was installed at ICAM, the Innovation Center Additive Manufacturing. Here, Fraunhofer IFAM Dresden brings together its wide range of additive manufacturing process know-how and development skills for new solutions in materials and components. With its extensive technological possibilities and powder-metallurgical know-how, Fraunhofer IFAM Dresden covers the complete process chain from material development and printing to sintering, characterization and industrial applications.

“With our research and development work, we want to transfer additive manufacturing into a broad industrial application. We are looking forward to contributing to this strategic partnership with our know-how and to developing innovative material and component solutions,” added Thomas Weißgärber, head of Fraunhofer IFAM Dresden.
