Ai Build, London based provider of autonomous 3D printing technologies will now be pairing its AiSync cloud software with industrial 3D printers produced by Hans Weber Maschinenfabrik’s AM unit WEBER Additive. WEBER is a German manufacturer of plastic extrusion machinery, which the company has been building for over 100 years. Now, with support from AI Build’s software and the extensive experience the London company has matured in the additive workflow, even a traditional plastic company like WEBER is ready to make the jump.
WEBER has developed a manufacturing cell, which produces large-volume components quickly and cost-effectively from a variety of plastic granules, and also allows the processing of highly filled materials. At the heart of this is a single-screw extruder, which has already been proven by numerous customers and is now further optimized for this special application. The official launch of our WEBER’s first DX machine is scheduled for early 2020 (which is also fairly big news).
“This collaboration writes history in the history of Hans Weber Maschinenfabrik GmbH”, said Markus Weber of the Executive Board at Hans Weber Maschinenfabrik. “We are proud to win with Ai Build a highly innovative, revolutionary partner, who – in conformity with us – pursue their vision courageously, with strong goal orientation and focus on ground-breaking success. With the combined expertise of the two companies in complex software (AiSync) and high-quality mechanical engineering, we will be able to offer strong, unbeatable complete solutions for future-oriented additive manufacturing and thus exceed limits, according to the motto: ‘To want the impossible is the prerequisite for creating the possible’ (Karl Liebknecht).”
Through this partnership, WEBER Additive will integrate AiSync, Ai Build’s 3D printing software with their new pellet extrusion-based large scale 3D printers. The first version of AiSync was introduced earlier this year and clients from Design, Construction and Automotive industries are using it to 3D print their large scale products. Paired with a WEBER Additive extruder, the additive manufacturing package offered jointly by the two companies is the most advanced solution in the market for large scale 3D printing of engineering-grade polymers and composites.
Unlike conventional 3D slicer applications, AiSync can produce non-planar, multi-axis three-dimensional toolpaths that are optimized for fast and affordable production with minimal user input. Ai Build’s digital twin capabilities for remote operation and machine learning algorithms for automated quality control combined with WEBER Additive’s robust and high throughput 3D printing hardware are aimed to reduce operational costs and accelerate the mass adoption of additive manufacturing in Construction, Infrastructure, Automotive and Aerospace industries.
“We are very excited to announce this strategic alliance,” said Daghan Cam, CEO of Ai Build. “Weber’s products are known for their high quality by tradition and their ethos is perfectly aligned with our vision for flawless automation. Working with such strong industrial partners allows us to break new grounds in additive manufacturing and deliver the most advanced technology to our clients.”
The first glimpse of Ai Build – WEBER Additive partnership can be seen at the K2019, the world’s largest trade at Düsseldorf, Germany (October 16 – 23) and on the Formnext, the largest European trade fair for 3D printing in Frankfurt, Germany (November 19 -22). In addition to new developments in extruder technology, Hans Weber Maschinenfabrik will be presenting its new machine for additive manufacturing using Ai Build’s software, together with products 3D printed using the combination of technologies from the two companies.
