Additive3D Asia to offer PostPro3D post processing in Southeast Asia

Additive3D Asia will offer PostPro3D’s Vapor Smoothing capabilities supported by Additive Manufacturing Technologies (AMT), for its online 3D printing services catered to B2B customers in Southeast Asia. Additive3D Asia is one of the early pioneers in Additive Manufacturing and a privately owned company with headquarters strategically located in Singapore. The company also has a local presence in Malaysia operating under the company name Expert3D to cover the market in Malaysia.

Additive3D Asia is the first in the SEA region to acquire the PostPro3D machine to offer services for the chemical smoothing post processing treatment. With Vapor Smoothing, customers can expect performance enhancement on their 3D printed parts, such as increased mechanical properties, injection molding-like surface, dimensional accuracy, seals against liquid and gas intake, color enhancement, as well as a reduction in bacteria growth. This is achieved through PostPro3D’s Vapor Smoothing treatment, a physio-chemical process that can smooth a wide variety of thermoplastic polymers. The process is non-line-of-sight and can smooth complex internal cavities of polymer parts. The technology is highly controllable, allowing reproducible results with no degradation of a parts’ mechanical properties.

This technology will solve some of 3D printing’s key weaknesses, as elaborated by Jason Joo, the Co-Founder and Business Development Director of Additive3D Asia. “The current market perception of 3D printed parts or products is that they are mainly for prototyping or research & development (R&D) purposes. This is one of the key factors slowing down the adoption of 3D printed parts or products into the mass market and manufacturing industries. Current challenges with 3D printed items including surface finishing, part strength, non-waterproof and being food and medical safe are now answered with the automated chemical vapor smoothing process from PostPro3D,” said Jason Joo.

In announcing the added capabilities, Paulene Siew, Co-Founder and Managing Director, Additive3D Asia also added on to say: “Additive3D Asia is proud to be the first company to be offering this new Post Processing service to all customers in Singapore and across Southeast Asia. Our objective is to bring 3D printing usage into the mass market with a safe, qualified and certified process in this new joint partnership with Additive Manufacturing Technologies (AMT). We are looking forward to growing our business wider and into new industries with this new service and are planning for more PostPro3D units in the near future as the demand grows more in our region.”

The Vapor Smoothing process is an expansion of the ISO 9001:2015 certified 3D printing services Additive3D Asia provides in the Asia Pacific region, including FDM, SLA, SLS, MJF and Metal 3D printing from on-demand production of product prototypes to short-run manufacturing of end-use parts. As a Total Solution Provider for Additive Manufacturing, Additive3D Asia is a pioneer in Digital Manufacturing To You (DM2U©) and Additive Manufacturing To You (AM2U©) Solutions.
