A 3D printed construction 3D printing museum is set to open in China
The entire, futuristic structure is 3D printed in concrete by Fab-Union

Fab-Union, a Chinese company specializing in various robotic construction technologies, is 3D printing a massive cement structure that, according to sources, will host the first Construction 3D Printing Museum. Not much is known about the museum at this time, but as we always do we will continue to monitor this story and updates it as new information comes in.
What we do know is that fab-Union is a serious company. The team behind Fab-Union has already conducted major polymer-based construction 3D printing projects such as the Cloud Pavilion in Shanghai and the Cloud Village at Venice Biennale in 2018. They have also fine-tuned a composite 3D printing technology (Robotic Filament Winding) used on the Cross-Scale Topology Bridge in Japan. In fact, they have also already used cement-based construction 3D printing to build interior elements of the Starbucks Reserve Roastery in Tokyo (we had also reported about a similar project in Shanghai).
The construction 3D printing museum will likely display a number of different construction technology approaches within the construction 3D printed structure. Fab-Union’s technologies are all based on FUROBOT, a robot programming platform developed by Fab-Union for the construction industry. The purpose of the software is to seamlessly connect the design process with the construction process, allowing designers and other construction industry practitioners to smoothly intervene in the robot construction process.
The robot simulation and programming module based on design 3D modeling environment, allows the user to program the robots in the same software interface. The process module based on the parameterized platform integrates the parameters obtained by the Fab-Union team from years of research and practice, which will help users achieve rapid deployment of the construction process, which facilitates the rapid production of prototype products and small-scale trial production.
After ten years of research, Fab-Union has realized and integrated a model for human-machine collaboration in the construction life-cycle, including design, optimization, and fabrication. The company has also established the Fab-union digital design and construction Internet platform, invented series of patented technologies based on two major construction scenarios——“prefabricated” and “in-situ”. The Fab-Union team developed a variety of intelligent building technologies based on materials types, and have been successfully realized in several projects to date.
