3ntr Completes Industrial 3D Printing Solution with Bliss Nozzle and Diamond Print Plate

After releasing the new SSI (Smart Slicing Interface) software, industrial 3D printer manufacturer 3ntr is completing its full professional 3D printing solutions by introducing two hardware elements: the new Diamond patented plates for easy print removal and the Bliss tungsten carbide nozzles for highly abrasive filament materials.

The SSI is powered by the powerful KISSlicer engine and can be used to 3D print virtually any kind of part, including complex industrial components, thanks to support for multi-material and support material extrusion processes. 3ntr now offers the SSU01 advanced support material system, which guarantees perfect surfaces (even those directly in contact with the support material) and can be easily dissolved in a water and caustic soda based solution in ultrasound tubs.

The idea behind SSI is to make the complex KISSlicer interface accessible to all users by drastically shortening the required learning curve. The new interface automatically checks settings, highlights any issue with the print, and automatically recognizes the polymer’s compatibility with the programmed print job by implementing preset “factory profiles”. This means that even with minimal 3D printing experience, users can be ready to print even the most complex parts, on local or network printers, within seconds.

Easy Does It

However no software solution is complete with hardware to adequately support its capabilities. Said that 3ntr’s A2 and A4 systems have been consistently implemented in industrial workplaces and are appreciated for their solidity and reliability, the company is introducing two new elements to further advance the printing experience. The first of these elements is the new Diamond print plates. The patented technology behind the new plates eliminates the need to tools to remove a print from the plate once it has cooled down.

As 3D printing becomes more and more an end use production technology, and even prototyping becomes more integrated into a complete digital production workflow, speed is of the essence. Printing speeds are only part of the equation as many bottlenecks arise during the workflow, in the material and part removal phase. The Diamond plates drastically accelerate print preparation and part removal by eliminating the need for clips, kapton or painter tape and PEI films. Even other disposable media such as hairspray and glues are no longer required. The Diamond plates build on 3ntr’s experience with the carbon fiber trays and magnetic blocks introduced in 2014 and takes ease of use to entire new level. Removing even the most complex part – or even series of parts – takes literally just a couple of seconds (see the video above).

Abrasive Materials? No Problem

Composite (charged) materials such as 3ntr’s NylonCarbon and PA66+Glass have been key to using 3D printers for the production of high strength end-use parts and components. These materials, however, are highly abrasive and can rapidly wear down standard nozzles. 3ntr’s solution to this production challenge the new Bliss nozzle, made of ultra hard Tungsten Carbide.

Tungsten Carbide is 10 times harder than brass. The Bliss nozzle is also up to 1.5 times faster than standard antiabrasion nozzles (92 W m/k) and has a monolithic build, meaning it will never break during installation. It has been tested by 3ntr and proven to last up to 100 times longer than brass nozzles working with any polymer on 3ntr’s 3D printers.

Advanced software, faster print loading and part removal, more efficient and long lasting nozzles. The road to an integrated solution for industrial 3D printing is a long one and 3ntr’s seems to be taking the challenge very seriously.
