3D Systems and GF Machining Solutions partner to redefine the Factory of the Future

New integrated additive and subtractive manufacturing solution will include automation and post-processing to provide seamless workflows

As a leader of the additive manufacturing industry, 3D Systems and Georg Fischer AG – GF Machining Solutions today announced a partnership that will enhance metal parts production and redefine how manufacturers think about their manufacturing environments. The two companies developed an integrated solution for a new concept in factory automation. This automated additive and subtractive platform will include software for enhanced part design, 3D printers, materials and automated material handling, electrical discharge machining (EDM), milling equipment and advanced post-processing technologies.

As a leader in the additive manufacturing industry – both for polymer and metal processing – 3D Systems has been increasingly focusing on implementing advanced end-to-end automation solutions such as the Figure 4 system for photopolymers and finishing systems integration for metals. Now the company has found in GF Machining an ideal partner to further this concept into more practical applications.
