Developed specifically for AM by APWORKS, Scalmalloy is the highest strength AM processable aluminium alloy, and is the only AM processable alloy which can effectively substitute high strength 7000 series aluminium alloys from plate or forging.
Thanks to its low density it provides density-specific properties which are extremely competitive even with the highest strength alternatives. Combining high strength with excellent ductility and processability, Scalmalloy is considered an ideal material for use in highly loaded and safety critical parts, which is why it is already applied in many critical applications. Scalmalloy already has a proven track record in a wide range of applications in Aerospace, Robotics, Marine and Motorsport, and is an approved material under the the FIA regulations.
