3D Printing Icon Janne Kyttanen Joins Firm Developing Grib AR 3D Modeling App

The benefits from AR and VR for 3D modeling (and, eventually, 3D printing) are becoming clearer as these systems, which initially were erroneously meant for video gaming, are evolgin to the point that they can now be used almost seamlessly for professional applications. It happened before with Kinect, the breakthrough $100 3D scanner, and with Google Glasses. Now it is happening again as a 3D printing icon like designer Janne Kyttanen has joined Grib, the firm developing the AR 3D modeling app by the same name.

“It has been 18 years since I started playing with AR. The equipment was very rough to say the least but we are finally starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel for real commercial applications. I recently joined www.grib3D.com to figure out some future shizzle in #augmentedreality and #3dprinting . We have something very interesting cooking.” Janne Kyttanen, Head of Shizzle in US, 3D printing icon.

Grib offers a new user experience that allows you to work intuitively in actual 3D space and interact with your environment using augmented reality. Simply use your hands in real space, interact with your colleagues and give your ideas a 3D form. All you need is pen, paper, and your mobile device. Grib is a cloud–based software that turns your mobile device into a universal controller. It enables you to work anywhere. Share models with friends, order a print, or export them if needed. And it even works offline. With Grib you are also able to design complex objects up to 10 times faster than current common tools. No need to spend a long time learning 3D software products. We think it’s time that software adjusts to what you want to do and gets you there.

Grib is focused on innovation especially regarding user experience (UX design) and is constantly looking for creative minds to join the community and create a great application together. There will be more GribTown events coming up. You can join GribTown and learn about the next co-creation workshops like design workshop for kids. Then also join the UXify community to participate a wider range of UX events.
